This is the updated version of the product, which has a notch in the threading to string the cord through and not the solid threading version.

I need a backing plate, what can I use?

We do not sell a backing plate for these mounts. The bolt pattern is 5/16" dia., 3" x 1-1/2" on center. These measurements can be used to source a suitable plate.
